iPad Pro 11, 12.9 or 13: Check the Model Before Choosing Storage or Cellular

First find the A-number, size and year

Open Settings > General > About > Model Number and tap the part number to reveal the A-number. Match it to Apple’s model list. Ask for a photo of the device screen showing storage and model number before relying on a seller title. The original 2015 Pro was 12.9 inches, and the older 10.5-inch Pro is another historical model; neither is a new M5 variant. “Pro Plus” and “12-inch Pro” are not exact Apple model names.

The 12.9-inch generations are older than the 13-inch M5

Apple lists the 12.9-inch fourth generation in 2020 (A2229 Wi-Fi; A2069/A2232/A2233 Cellular), fifth in 2021 (A2378 Wi-Fi; A2461/A2379/A2462 Cellular), and sixth in 2022 (A2436 Wi-Fi; A2437/A2764/A2766 Cellular). Region-specific variants differ. These are older models, not 2025–2027 new stock. The 13-inch Pro uses M4 for 2024 or M5 for 2025; check the A-number to distinguish them. If a listing says “12-inch vs 11-inch” or “iPad 12 Pro 1TB/Cellular/screen size,” clarify whether it means the older 12.9 or a current 13 before comparing. The capacity and Cellular words do not resolve that ambiguity.

Storage is not RAM, and capacity does not identify the chip

A label such as 256GB, 512GB, 1TB or 2TB describes storage, not the model or RAM. “1000GB” is an informal way to search for 1TB; “1TB RAM” confuses storage with memory. The 2020 12.9-inch fourth generation supports 128GB–1TB, and the 2021/2022 fifth/sixth generations include 128GB–2TB. The current M5 11/13-inch range starts at 256GB. A generic “Pro 128 Cellular” must therefore be identified by A-number and year before any recommendation.

Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G and eSIM vary with the generation

“Cellular” means the selected model has mobile-network hardware, but it does not by itself establish LTE versus 5G, a physical SIM tray, Egyptian band compatibility or a working plan. Apple shows a nano-SIM tray on the 2020–2022 12.9-inch Cellular models; recent M4/M5 Cellular models are eSIM-only. Check the exact A-number, region and Egyptian carrier before buying a data plan. Never substitute a Wi-Fi-only product for a Cellular request.

Compare screen size, pixels and brightness by named model

The largest current marketed iPad screen size is 13 inches: Pro M5 is labeled 13 inches and Air M4 is also labeled 13 inches (Apple measures the Air display at 12.9 inches as a rectangle). The older 12.9-inch Pro fourth through sixth generations list 2732 × 2048 pixels; the 2025 M5 Pro 11 has 2420 × 1668 and the M5 Pro 13 has 2752 × 2064. Bigger diagonal and more total pixels do not imply higher pixel density. Apple rates M5 Pro at up to 1000 nits full-screen SDR and 1600 nits peak HDR. For context, the 2026 iPad Air M4 lists 500 nits at 11 inches and 600 nits at 13 inches, while iPad (A16) lists 500 nits. The older 2020 Pro 12.9 fourth generation lists 600 nits; do not apply current M5 brightness to every older Pro or confuse peak HDR with regular SDR.

Does a 120Hz display guarantee 120 FPS in games?

No. Apple lists ProMotion with an adaptive display refresh rate up to 120Hz on the M5 Pro. The panel refresh rate is not the number of frames a particular game actually renders. Game support, frame-rate settings, the exact iPad model, scene and thermal state can change observed FPS. Ask for the game name and settings, check its developer support and measure the specific device; do not turn a generic “120 fps iPad” query into a performance guarantee or an M5 product offer.

Older Pro: inspect the exact eligible pre-owned listing

If the older 12.9, 10.5 or 11-inch model is your preference, inspect an eligible iKlinik pre-owned listing for device condition, battery, storage, connectivity, accessories, current price, current availability and written one-year warranty. If no matching listing is available, ask for stock confirmation; the guide does not claim a specific older unit is available. For a new 2025–2027 purchase, compare an actual live product configuration after identifying the model.
